Agere Carbon Footprint
At Agere Energy & Infrastructure Partners, we are firmly committed to conducting all our operations with the utmost care and respect for the environment.
To assess our environmental performance, we have been comprehensively tracking the company’s Carbon Footprint since 2018. This process involves the collection and analysis of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, translated into the CO₂ equivalent.
This year we will continue with the previously implemented measures and initiatives focused on ensuring that our practices are sustainable and are aligned with the environmental objectives we have set for ourselves.
In this way, we maintain our electricity supply contract with a Guarantee of Origin (GoO) supplier, which guarantees that the electricity supplied is generated from renewable energy and high-efficiency cogeneration. In addition, we continue to promote the use of electric vehicles, both for daily commuting to the office and for meetings. Where this is not possible, we always try to choose the most efficient and environmentally friendly option.
Despite our efforts, a progressive increase in CO₂ emissions is inevitable due to the expansion of the company over the years. This increase is mainly due to the increased number of long-distance trips that our work entails making, particularly those involving the use of aircraft.
To minimise our carbon footprint and be in line with our commitment, during FY2024 we have offset 50 tCo2, which is 100% of our emissions.
We have done this by supporting a Reforestation and Recovery Project of a burnt forest mass: Sumidero Monte Bachao, in A Coruña, a project that aims to achieve, among other benefits, the recovery of the forest ecosystem, reduce the risk of fire and erosion.
In our belief in the importance of reducing our environmental impact, we will continue to work to offset our carbon footprint.
